Travel

By Train

The train is the easiest and cheapest means of transportation out to the North Fork.  Just hop on the LIRR at Penn Station (34th Street and 7th Avenue) to catch a train out to Greenport. The train comes directly into town and is an easy walk to many of the hotels in the area.

Please look up the schedules before hand on the Long Island Railroad website since the service doesn't run frequently.

By Boat

If you are driving from Connecticut or the Boston area and need to take a break from sitting behind the wheel its easy to hop on the ferry to Orient Point. Reservations can be made on the Cross Sound Ferry Website.

By Bus

The Hampton Jitney is another great alternative out to the North Fork. The Jitney runs more frequently than the LIRR but the arrival time might vary based on traffic.  Please account for delays when planning your trip out east on the jitney.

The Greenport stop is located at 476 4th Street by the Long Island Railroad station and is also an easy walk to the hotels in town.

You can make reservations and order tickets online on the Hampton Jitney website.
